My First Day in Alaska as a Locum Tenens as a PM&R Physician

My first day in Alaska was a pleasant success! It was mainly dedicated to the easy stuff: computer setup, credentialing, EMR access, and meeting the friendly staff while touring the beautifully maintained facility. Check out my course for how to master different EMRs HERE I’m here to help a 35-bed unit navigate a transition period, and I was fascinated to learn they have the only LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) unit in Alaska, complete with a remote-monitored eICU. After a sunny day that saw me trying (and failing) to spot Mount Denali through the clouds, I decided to put off my bike ride and be a social butterfly by joining a group hike.
